Boating

Temagami is full of large and beautiful lakes. Lake Temagami, Cassels Lake, Net Lake and Rabbit Lake are some of the larger ones. You can enjoy a day trip to see beautiful scenery or take a vacation trip on a houseboat. There are several marinas in the area and public boat launches on the major lakes. There are navigational aides on Lake Temagami, but we recommend using shoal maps, which are available from local retailers, for those unfamiliar with the lake. Boaters should also be aware of boat and pleasure craft licensing requirements in Canada. Check out the Transport Canada and the Service Canadawebsites for more details.

Canoeing:

Temagami's large network of interconnected lakes and rivers is home to more than 1,500 miles of canoe routes. Bring your own canoe and pick up maps and guide books from local outfitters or retailers. Local canoe outfitters can provide all the assistance you need to safely undertake a wilderness canoe trip, including route consultation, canoe rentals and equipment outfitting and shuttle service. A variety of guided canoe trips are also available.
