A variety of emergency Fire & Rescue services are provided by a special group of dedicated volunteers. Our volunteer Firefighters respond to approximately 60 calls a year, most of which are vehicle accidents.
Municipal Fire Department primary response areas include the urban areas, the highway corridors, municipal and maintained roads suitable for our fire trucks. Municipal fire departments do not provide emergency response services to areas inaccessible by conventional fire trucks The majority of structures in these areas are water access only properties. A Municipal Forest Fire Agreement provides for forest fire suppression (including values protection) from the Ministry of Natural Resources during the Forest Fire Season.
